2021 Season Highlights:
The 2021 PBR competition team is celebrating one of the best seasons ever, winning choreography awards, first places, special awards, and overall awards at all the competitions we attended.  These are some highlights of this season:

Celebration in Altoona
  • “Spare Change” won the highest score of competition age 13 and over.
  • First Place in their division: “ Spare Change” “I Won’t Give Up” “You Should Be Dancing” “The River Flows In You”
  • Judges Choice Awards: Erin Statler, Mia Noel, and group dance “Fight Song”
  • Show Stopper Award: Maddie Smith
  • Category Awards: Emily Liebal, Mackie Beckel, Erin Statler,  and group dance “Spare Change”
  • Dancer of the Year Finalist: Emily Liebal and Mackie Beckel 
  • Performance Award: “Rojo” and “Big Bad Wolf”
  • Costume Award: “The River Flows In You”
Encore in Altoona 
  • PBR won the top studio of the competition with the most first places for the 2nd season back to back!
  • Maddie Smith won a mic drop award and highest scoring solo/duet/trio of the competition age 12 and over
  • Maddie Smith won Elite Division Senior Miss Encore
  • Will Stadtmiller won Competitive Division Petite Mister Encore
  • “I Won’t Give Up” won highest score of competitive group dances age 11 and under.
  • First Place in their division: “I Won’t Give Up” “Kooza” “Fight Song’ “Spare Change” “All Is Well”
  • Jaynie Estlow won the Grand Final Scholarship in the competitive teen solo division.
  • Alyssa Chestney won the Discovery Spotlight Scholarship in the competitive teen solo division. 
  • Judges Choice: Alyssa Chestney, Gracie Monahan, Lillian Roberts, and group dance “Spare Change”                                                                                     
Dance Educators in Pittsburgh  
  • “Spare Change” won highest score of group dances.
  • “Kooza” won highest scoring production
  • First Place in their division: “You Should Be Dancing” “Spare Change” “Silent Tappers” “I Won’t Give Up”
  • Mr Bill Awards: Erin Statler, Maddie Smith and group dances “Fight Song” “ Rojo” and “Fuego” 
Sheer Elite in Lancaster 
  • PBR won the Congeniality Award! 
  • “Coming Home” won an Overall Cash Award
  • Lia Ross won First Place in the junior elite solo division
  • Ian Schmoke won a Choreography Award for senior contemporary dance “Spare Change” 
  • First Place In Division: “Spare Change” and “Big Bad Wolf”
  • Sheer Ambassadors: Will  Stadtmiller and Mackie Beckel 
  • Erin Statler won the Vicki Sheer Award and Dance X Award 
  • Sarah Saylor won the highest ballet score of the competition   
  • Excellence Awards: Sidnie Yoder and Mackie Beckel                     
All Out Dance
  • PBR won the Sportsmanship Award!
  • Rachel Monahan won a Choreography Award for “Fight Song”
  • Mackie Beckel won 12 and under Improv Award
  • “I Won’t Give Up” won Judges Choice Award
  • First place in their division: “I Won’t Give Up” “Fight Song” “Fuego” Rojo” 
  • First place in advanced junior and senior trio divisions: Junior - “Silent Tappers” Senior - “Should Be Dancing”
  • Maddie Smith won All Out Excellence for her solo “Grinch”
  • Will Stadtmiller won Mini Mr All Out Dance 
PBR will also attend Encore Grand Finals in Charleston SC in July

Encore Grand Finals in Charleston
  • Emily Liebal won a diamond award for her solo “Someone You Loved” choreographed by Rachel Monahan
  • Makaehla Beckel won a platinum award, first place in the junior jazz solo division, third place overall in the junior solo division, and a special award called “Spicy Cha Cha Queen” for her solo “Cha Cha Heels” choreographed by Natalie Aikens 
  • Will Stadtmiller won Mr. Petite Encore Runner Up​
Sheer Elite in Lancaster
  • Senior musical theater dance “Kooza” choreographed by Emily Morris and Natalie Aikens won a diamond award and first place in the large group teen division
  • Senior contemporary dance “Rojo” choreographed by Jocelyn Hrzic won a diamond award and first place in the small group teen division
  • Senior contemporary dance “Spare Change” choreographed by Ian Schmoke won a diamond award and first place in the small group senior division
  • Small fry lyrical dance “Fight Song” choreographed by Rachel Monahan won a diamond award, first place in the small wonder group division, and overall high score of all group dances (PBR Duncansville)
  • Small fry jazz trio “Big Bad Wolf” choreographed by Natalie Aikens won first place in the small wonder duet/trio division 
  • Junior jazz dance “Bop” won first place in the small group division
  • Junior ballet dance “Faust” won first place in the large group division 
  • Preteen tap “Silent Tappers” also won first place in the trio division
  • Emily Liebal won 2 special awards, a diamond award and a titanium award on her 2 solos, as well as second and third place in the senior solo division. Her solos were “Desperado” choreographed by Natalie Aikens and “Someone I Loved” choreographed by Rachel Monahan
  • Mackie Beckel won a diamond award and first place in the junior solo division for her solo, “Cha Cha Heels,” choreographed by Natalie Aikens​
All Out
  • Small fry lyrical dance “Fight Song”  choreographed by Rachel Monahan won first place in their division, a special award called “Practice Makes Perfect,” and the highest adjudication award called “All Out Excellence” (PBR Duncansville)

​Sheer Elite in Lancaster  
  • Senior ballet “Boulevard of Broken Dreams “ choreographed by Karlie Travis won titanium and first place in the large group division
  • Senior contemporary “Iron” choreographed by Jocelyn Hrzic won titanium and first place in the small group division
  • Teacher Karlie Travis won a choreography award for her senior ballet “Boulevard Of Broken Dreams”
  • The Noel sisters, Mia and Madison, won first place for their duet choreographed by Ashley Walk
  • Emily Liebal won the “Vicki Sheer” award
  • Sarah Saylor won the highest lyrical dance score of the competition for her solo choreographed by Natalie Aikens
  • Mickie Smith was accepted into Steps On Broadway Professional Training program in NYC 
  • 6 PBR students won scholarships to attend summer intensives and future dance programs 
  • Madison Noel, Mia Noel, And Mickie Smith won a special judges award 
​Dance Educators in Pittsburgh  
  • Senior lyrical “I Have Nothing” choreographed by Rachel Monahan won a platinum award 
  • Senior contemporary “Iron” choreographed by Jocelyn Hrzic won a platinum award
  • Junior hip hop “Get Up Off That Thing” choreographed by Ashley Walk won first place in preteen groups
  • Junior jazz “Boogie Shoes” choreographed by Natalie Aikens won a special judges award
  • Maddie Smith won a special judges award for her solo choreographed by Ashley Walk
  • Mickie Smith, Madison Noel, and Emily Schultz won a scholarship to attend the summer musical theater intensive at the national convention in West Palm Beach
​Encore in Johnstown 
  • PBR won the top studio of the competition with the most first places!
  • Teacher Rachel Monahan won a choreography award for senior lyrical “I Have Nothing” 
  • Senior jazz “The Way You Make Me Feel” choreographed by Natalie Aikens won a diamond award and first place in senior competitive large line division
  • Senior contemporary “Iron” choreographed by Jocelyn Hrzic won first place in the elite senior small group division
  • Senior production “Greatest Showman” choreographed by Emily Morris won first place in senior competitive production division            
  • PBR senior lyrical “I Have Nothing” choreographed by Rachel Monahan won first place in the senior competitive super group division 
  • Junior hip hop "Get Up Off That Thing" choreographed by Ashley Walk won first place in junior small groups
  • Emily Schultz won a diamond award, third place in the Senior Elite Super Solo Division, and the Discovery Spotlight Award
  • Madison Noel won a diamond award, first place in Senior Elite Solo division, and overall  top scoring Elite Solo of the competition for her solo choreographed by Ashley Walk
  • Sarah Saylor won first place in the teen competitive solo division and the Encore Extreme Convention Scholarship for her solo choreographed by Natalie Aikens
  • Mackie Beckel won first place in the competitive junior solo division for her solo choreographed by Natalie Aikens
Dance Masters at Seven Springs 
  • PBR won the ballet award for the second time! Thank you Miss Pauline for your 59 years of teaching ballet. Congratulations also to Karlie Travis. Karlie choreographed the dance that was recognized at the competition called “Boulevard of Broken Dreams”
  • Senior lyrical ”I Have Nothing” choreographed by Rachel Monahan won a platinum award and first place in the division 5 large lines 
  • Teacher Rachel Monahan won the choreography award for her senior lyrical dance “I Have Nothing”
  • Teacher Ashley Walk won a choreography award for her junior hip hop called “Get Up Off That Thing”
  • Emily Schultz won a platinum award and 7th place in division 6 solos
  • Sarah Saylor won a platinum award and 4th place in the division 4 solos
  • Mackie Beckel won a platinum award and 1st place in division 2 solos
